The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences - Undergraduate Medical Research Journal (LUMHS-UMRJ) highly values the contribution of its reviewers, whose expertise and commitment are essential for maintaining the journal’s quality, credibility, and integrity. Peer reviewers play a crucial role in ensuring that published research meets the highest academic and ethical standards.
REVIEWER GUIDELINES:
1. Purpose of Review:
Reviewers are requested to provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback on submitted manuscripts. The goal is to assist authors in improving the scientific quality, clarity, and originality of their work.
2. Criteria for Evaluation:
Each manuscript should be assessed according to the following criteria:
Originality and novelty of the research question or concept.
Scientific validity and appropriateness of the study design and methodology.
Accuracy and reliability of data analysis and interpretation.
Relevance and significance of findings to medical or allied health sciences.
Clarity of writing, structure, and presentation.
Adherence to ethical and publication standards.
3. Confidentiality:
All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use any part of the submitted work for personal or professional gain. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, where both author and reviewer identities remain anonymous.
4. Conflicts of Interest:
Reviewers should immediately inform the editorial office if they have any conflict of interest (financial, personal, or professional) that could influence their judgment.
5. Review Quality and Timeliness:
Reviewers are expected to complete reviews within the time frame specified in the invitation (usually 2–3 weeks). If unable to meet the deadline, they should promptly inform the editorial team.
6. Acknowledgment and Recognition:
LUMHS-UMRJ values the dedication of its reviewers and may acknowledge their contributions annually on the journal website or through official appreciation certificates. Reviewers are also encouraged to record their work on professional platforms such as Publons or ORCID for formal recognition.
